Release Notification Product Update HERE Platform for Business 11/2016 (D74)

Dear Customer,

please be advised that a new release (D74) of the HERE Platform for Business is now available on the Production environment (PRD).

We send this email to all those who apply for access credentials to the platform, based on the information they provide when registering.

This email includes release notes that describe the improvements to the services in the new release. This release includes updates of: Geocoder API, Geocoder Autocomplete API, HLP Routing API, Map Image API, Map Tile API, Public Transit API, Venue Maps API, Custom Location Extension, Route Match Extension, Toll Cost Extension, Waypoints Sequence Extension, Platform Data Extension, HERE Android SDK, HERE iOS SDK and Map Data.

As well, we will publish the release documentation on the Developer Portal.

Management Summary

The release is mainly a maintenance release; highlights are:

New HERE Android and iOS SDK Release with support of Android 7.0 Nougat and iOS 10, offline truck routing, Platform Data Extension and other enhancements.
Improved long truck route calculation for routes going across borders
Waypoints Sequence Extension: added support up to 150 waypoints
New major Map release deployed, Q3 2016, Map#64 (October 2016)
Launch of Rapid Refresh for Hybrid Client Application to enable much fresher map dataset.

Geocoder API

South Africa: Increase match rate by allowing end users to use the name of the capitals of metropolitan municipality areas in address search instead of the official city names.  
New Zealand: Improved address search by recognizing postal delivery related information in queries.  
Hong Kong and Macau were updated to 2016Q2 map data.

HLP Routing API

Improved bike routing to avoid stairs.
Improved long truck route calculation for routes going across borders.

Map Image API

Added the layer Admin Wide Truck Restrictions with initial coverage to comprise France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK.
Added a separate column with inner rings (holes) to inner rings of polygonal layers.

HERE Android SDK Premium Edition

Added support for Android 7.0 Nougat.
Starting in this release, HERE Positioning is no longer considered beta. The release package also includes the Indoor Positioning Installation Guide, Indoor Radio Mapper app, Indoor Radio Mapper User Guide, and Indoor Radio Mapper Release Notes.
For debugging purposes only, added the ability to log positions as GPX files that can be replayed by the HERE SDK.
Added dynamic venue styles. You can set space names, icons, fill color, and outline color by using this feature.
Added support for offline truck routing.
Expanded Custom Location Extensions 2 with new search types.
Added the ability to retrieve side-of-the-road information about a route waypoint.
You can now use Makani codes in free text query Geocode requests.
You can now retrieve the time zone information about a Place that was returned from an online geocoding request.
Added support for Platform Data Extensions (PDE) to access a wide range of HERE data.

Map Data

Version 8.30.64.152

With the release of Q3 2016, Map#64 (October 2016) we overall introduce Rapid Refresh for Europe, North America, Middle East Africa, Oceania and Taiwan regions. This will provide much fresher data to hybrid clients for Mobile SDK (Android, iOS), Silverstone and Windows.
Map Refresh means that with Map#64 we start releasing data to all clients from weekly snapshots. In Europe, North America, Australia/New Zealand, Middle East, Africa and Taiwan the data is now as fresh as 4-6 weeks at the time of a release comparing to ~22-34 weeks after field collection in the previous quarterly map updates.
New counties received an updated Coverage level:
- Intermediate Map Content – Armenia

- Intermediate Map Content - Tonga and Vanuatu

More accurate representation of country information is now available on link level to support Routing and other use cases where country-specific logic needs to be taken into account. Also state information is available on link level for the following countries: Australia, Canada, China, India, USA.
The following road attributes were added to support Routing use cases: Stairs Traversal, Public Access, Special Traffic Figure.
