please be advised that a new release (D89) of the HERE Platform for Business is now available on the Production environment (PRD).
This email includes release notes that describe the improvements to the services in the new release. This release includes updates of: Maps API for JavaScript, Geocoder API, Geocoder Autocomplete API, Positioning API, Traffic API, Places API, Venue Maps API, Custom Location Extension and Custom Route Extension.
As well, we will publish the release documentation on the Developer Portal.
Management Summary
The release highlights are:
- Geocoder now supports postal codes for the Republic of Ireland, known as Eircodes
- Places API now supports search queries of the form: Chain/Category

- We added a new optional client element in the locate request body. The information about the client hardware and software can be used to further improve the positioning service quality.

Custom Route Extension
Version 2.1.23
- New feature to block existing private roads in within the area of the newly submitted roads. Required when refining/replacing existing map geometry, e.g. in facility maps, to suppress less fine grained existing roads. See &private_link_handling=PLAIN/UNCONNECTED/DROPEXISTING.
- New parameter to require a certain match quality. Required when adding to existing map geometry, e.g. in facility maps, to avoid snapping to nearby existing roads. See &max_distance_to_match, &min_match_confidence (does an attribute override accept a poorly matching road geometry or not) and &max_distance_to_connect (does a new road connect to a nearby link or stay as dead end).

- WaypointItemDelegate protocol is deprecated in the iOS and will be removed with the next release

IMPORTANT INFORMATIONS:
General Rules Related to HERE Materials and Applications
• Inline with HERE Platform core terms, please ensure that the users of your application build on HERE Mobile SDKs Premium Edition constantly download the latest map version within a couple of weeks after the new map release has been available.
New incidents endpoint for Traffic API
• In May 2017, new /traffic/6.2/incidents endpoint launched to support more incidents data
• The old endpoint /traffic/6.1/incidents is still available and will be supported at least for 6 months
Public Transit API refactoring
• In April 2017, Public Transit API version 3.0.0 released, following refactoring of all endpoints to a new format. The API endpoint format have been changed from https://transit.api.here.com/metarouter/rest/routeservice/v2/(resource) to https://transit.api.here.com/v3/(resource)
• For now, the coming releases will continue to support all deprecated endpoints (with old parameter names)
